Meet Don
I am the President/Chief Executive Officer of Saratoga’s Community FCU in Saratoga Springs, NY, and have been involved in the financial industry for over 50 years. Prior to joining the credit union, I served as National Sales Manager for Financial Service Centers Cooperative, Inc. (FSCC), based in San Dimas, California.
In addition, I served as AVP of Sales and Business Partner Services for the Credit Union Association of New York, where I was responsible for the management of channel sales and development for national vendor relationships and was instrumental in implementing a statewide initiative addressing the technology needs of smaller credit unions.
I also served ten years as President/CEO of First New York FCU in Schenectady; Vice President of Lending at Sunmark FCU; CEO at 1st General FCU in Scotia; and Manager of Members First Credit Union of New Hampshire.
I remain active in various credit union organizations, currently serving as Chairman of the board with UsNet, a CUSO of the Credit Union Association of New York. Past organizations include, President, Mohawk Valley Association of Independent Credit Unions; Credit Union Advisory Panel for CUNA Mutual; past Chapter President and Secretary with the New York and New Hampshire credit union leagues; an alternate for the Board of Directors with the New York Credit Union Association; and an instructor for the CUNA Management School in New York.
I currently serve as Vice President of the Malta Springs homeowner association and have also served with other homeowner associations as president, vice president, and chaired various committees for the associations. I also served as Board Chair of the Saratoga Springs Senior Center and served eight years in the New York Air National Guard in Schenectady, NY.
I am a longtime resident of Saratoga County and have owned homes in Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Stillwater, Niskayuna, and currently reside with my wife, and high school sweetheart of 55 years, in Malta, NY. I have two daughters residing in Ballston Spa, both in education, and five grandchildren.
I have dedicated my personal and business career to improving the lives of the people I touched and I plan to be as effective in my commitment to the Malta community.
