Issues
Slow-growing rural areas find that their policies are not bringing the prosperity they seek.
Fast-growing rural areas face increasing development pressures and challenges, such as housing affordability, traffic congestion, infrastructure, loss of farmland, job and labor shortages, medical and educational needs, and safety issues.
This leads to one underlying issue - CONTROLLED GROWTH.
Consider the towns around Malta, some thriving and vibrant, some stagnant and deteriorating.
Each of these towns are faced with one underlying issue - CONTROLLED GROWTH.
Geographically, Malta sits in a very enviable position. The Town is located between Albany, the capital of New York State, with an abundance of culture and access to mass transportation; and the Saratoga Springs/Lake George area, a major tourist destination known around the world. It also has three access points from one of the most traveled interstate highways in the East, I-87. Not to be undone by a four lane state highway running from New York City to Montreal in the center of it all.
Malta is positioned for CONTROLLED GROWTH.
